Thank you, Pam, for this vital, timely reminder. We’re in a Battle (w/ a capital B), and the wolves are baying! This gives me such comfort on behalf of my beloved brother who has lost his wife in an unwanted divorce and has lost his house in a foreclosure–just this past week. The wolves have arrived on his very doorstep. I wrote about this at length at Shelly Miller’s blog. Let me just say thank you, Pam, for reminding me as I will remind Brian that God’s light will overcome his darkness. God bless you. Lynn
Thank you, Lynn… yes in praying for your brother, this was one of the situations I was thinking of with this post. I’m glad it uplifts you as you pray… It also reminds me of personal things that put fear in my life… as well as praying for the crossroads of this election too. God is the fire and the glory around and in us. What comfort and strength in that truth. This was the word He spoke into my prayer journal this week.

Beautiful reminder of God’s promises. In the midst of the crisis we may not see God’s hand. When my son battled leukemia I kept a journal and poured out my prayers to the Lord. After God took my son home to be with Him, I saw God’s presence. I saw answers to prayer and the hedge of love that surrounded our son. God is faithful.
I’m so sorry for your loss…I know there are no words for that sorrow. But so grateful for the comfort and assurance he gave you. I love that…a hedge of love around your son. Thank you for sharing that, Carol. It is sometimes hard to see His hand, but you give confirmation to His light with your words.

I definitely can see my Pain being like the “wolf” when it rises and seems so determined to take all of me with it! During those darkest of times, I cry out for God’s help and slowly but surely, I can sense a slight ease and oh my God-how grateful I am for those moments.
I thank you for this posting Pam-it causes us to stop and truly think about the moments of loss of Faith-times in our lives when everything feels like it has fallen apart. Faith can’t always be seen that easily but when you let go and REACH for God-without a doubt you can FEEL Faith and its a moment of deep love and glory.

I agree… pain is one of the “wolves” always on the prowl. I have known that myself. There is such power in the word from God’s mouth to ours and back to His, Martha… when that pain comes, may you speak back these beautiful words of promise from Zechariah and see His ring of fire protecting you, His Glory relieving you, risen with healing in His wings. I pray it over you and all of us as I get off to go to sleep tonight… and every night. A picture of His words surrounding you, enfolding you… Yes, when everything seems to have fallen apart, I’m finding… He is really holding it all together more than I know. Blessings to you…

Pam, beautiful post that tugs at hearts easily filled with fear. Have heard actual wolves howl before and it is a sound that makes one glad there is strong wall around to keep them out. We sure can’t keep them from howling but we can know we are protected by His strong loving hands. Blessings
