Bells Are Ringing Out the Joy

There…in warm candlelight,

In carols folded in worship and peace,

In laughter and ribbons and paper ripping joy —

reminders, all, of our Savior Gift wrapped in swaddling clothes for us all…

Merry Christmas! Have a merry, merry, merry Christmas!

Foretold, centuries before He came…

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign:

The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son,

                and will call him Immanuel.”

Isaiah 7:14

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
   there will be no end.

Isaiah 9: 6,7

…Let our loving hearts enthrone him.

Thank you for sharing these words. I really like the old magazine cover. I did watch the movie “The Nativity Story” this morning. I try to watch it on Christmas each year. As I watched it I did try to imagine how the real story was. This movie I think does a very good job as to showing how it could have been for Mary & Joseph especially the hard journey to Bethlehem. I really do like the way that Joseph was portrayed. If you have never seen this movie I do highly recommend it. 🙂

    • Yes, this is another Jessie Willcox Smith picture… I love her work. I don’t think I have seen that movie… I will have to check it out. I think they showed it on TV recently, but I didn’t see it. Sounds really good. Thanks for sharing about it.
