When you’re feeling lonely, tossed and windblown…

AS A SOLITARY LEAF UP AGAINST A WEATHERED WOODEN STEP…

Digital Camera

YOU MAY JUST BE SOMEONE’S NEEDED COLOR VIBRANT,

RESPLENDENT GEM FIRE IN HIS HAND,

REVITALIZING AS LIQUID AMBER TOPAZ IN A CUP OF WARM-SPICED TEA.

“I will sing for joy in God,
explode in praise from deep in my soul!
He dressed me up in a suit of salvation,
he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo
and a bride a jeweled tiara.
For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers,
and as a garden cascades with blossoms,
So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom
and puts praise on display before the nations.”

`  Isaiah 61: 10,11, The  Message

How beautiful, your words to us today.
    God bless and heal.

I needed some color today, pam, after visiting a long-time friend in the gray of a nursing home. She is just my age (well, just a year older) and looks ninety, having suffered the ravages of early Alzheimer’s, looking more like the weathered wood you depict. We see the signs now, in retrospect. I feel so hopeless today. Thanks for the reminder that one day Barb will bloom in living, heavenly color.

Praying each day your wrist is heailng. You are amazing to keep posting!

  4. Hi Pam,

We so need colour in our lives, don’t we! The other day we were driving home from a rather upsetting day. Tears streaming, and pain in my heart was so very real. As we drove towards home, there in the skies was a stunning rainbow. It took my breath away, especially as there hadn’t been any rain and it wasn’t particularly sunny. It was a rather grey day… until God showed us His glory 🙂

Thanks for posting this beautiful verse. I like to compare my favorite verses to the Message’s version. Often it brings a deeper meaning as I ponder them.

    Blessings, Joan
