From Once-Upon-A-Time…

scan0007

God, it seems you’ve been our home forever;
    long before the mountains were born,
Long before you brought earth itself to birth,
    from “once upon a time” to “kingdom come”—you are God…

Surprise us   with love at daybreak;
    then we’ll skip and dance all the day long…

And let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us,
    confirming the work that we do.
    Oh, yes. Affirm the work that we do!

~ Psalm 90, 1, 2, 13-17 The Message

To you who are feeling a bit blue, left out, unsure…

The loveliness of our Lord, shining in and on you, makes you beautiful… affirms you…just as you are.  It shimmers in you, in your gifts, spilling out as golden pools ~ lamplight of His Love to a world stumbling in shadows.

Oh, let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us!

    Hi Pam, these words are so beautiful and so are the two pictures that you did include with them. Thank you for the encouragement. 🙂

    Pam i love the fresh language of The Message, and your drawing is so beautiful. This kind of nostalgic drawing is yorur forte and takes us back to gentler times. Thank you for sharing!

    • Thanks, Lynn. That drawing is actually from a photo someone gave me of a place on Martha’s Vineyard 🙂 I’ve always loved that nostalgic style! Yes, I love this version of this passage too, especially those words about Once Upon a Time to Kingdom Come…

  3. Pam-
    You brightened my day–as I am settling into bed, aching Neck resting on a heating pad, major Cold Weather headed our way and knowing this Pain will grow by the hour until the Front pushes through. I was trying to think of “SOMETHING” that could distract my mind from the Pain and as I opened your Posting–my eyes traveled down to your Drawing!! It felt as if my heart jumped with JOY to see your “Spiritual-Gifted” drawing~~~showing an image of “HOME” through the arbor and I smiled, enjoying the blessing of a distraction from Pain….

    The Lord is always beside us—what a wonderful assurance we have in HIS love! Thank you Pam for being so accepting of your God-given Gifts and for sharing them with us.

    What a beautiful reminder! The verse you quoted and the pictures going along with it are perfect for that loving message. “And let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us…” I love that! Thank you so much for sharing!

  5. Pam,
    Yes, He is the true beauty in us! I have learned, the more I dive into His word, the more I know His love, His magnificent love, and the way we live our lives to reflect that love…oh! We are His beautiful daughters!
