A Sure Thing

Stretch the Borders of Life

At that time, this song
will be sung in the country of Judah:
We have a strong city, Salvation City,
    built and fortified with salvation.
Throw wide the gates
so good and true people can enter.
People with their minds set on you,
    you keep completely whole,
Steady on their feet,
because they keep at it and don’t quit.
Depend on God and keep at it
because in the Lord God you have a sure thing.
Those who lived high and mighty
he knocked off their high horse.
He used the city built on the hill
    as fill for the marshes.
All the exploited and outcast peoples
build their lives on the reclaimed land.

~  Isaiah 26:3 The Message [above] and Living Bible [below]

He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him,

whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!

Hi Pam, I have this Scripture marked in my Bible with a heart & smiling face. I really like what verse 4 says also. I have this on a plaster plaque that I painted along time ago. Thank you for sharing. God bless… 🙂

  2. Mary Gemmill says:

Pam…you have no idea how much I needed the middle part of the scripture today…May God BLESS you. xx

  3. Linda says:

it is a bit hectic around here too. Thanks for the words of peace and encouragement. Linda

  4. Hi Pam,

What a serene photo of the water, and I have always loved that verse: “He will keep in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on him.” I like that it doesn’t depend on my effort or my stellar focus, but rather even my grasping staring up at him in childlike trust can bring me peace. He is a good kind God, huh?

    Nice to be here again,
