Sing a song of Christmas beauty; Breathe a song of peace

“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long,  and the one the Lord loves rests between      his shoulders.

Deuteronomy 33:12 NIV

“Erithacus Rubecula”

English Robin

The English robin is one of the only birds heard lifting it’s melodious song in                  Britain’s gardens on Christmas day!

I LOVE these rounded red-breasted charmers… somehow they have a much sweeter countenance and shape than the larger, American kind.   And so endearing to find them singing joy over the gardens on Christmas day, not just in spring!

His is the music of all seasons…

Beautiful, Pam! I pray your Christmas was as sweet as the robin’s song 🙂

Lovely. So sweet. Visiting from Lisha’s today.

  3. Neat to see this. Thank you for sharing. Made me smile!

The card is so pretty, Pam. The Robins are praising the Lord for His coming. He is with us. Thanks for the verse too.

Wishing you a beautiful New Year ahead, full of God’s bountiful blessings in all ways.

  5. I was drawn in by “His is the music of all seasons”. May God’s song sing to us and teach us each day. May we accept it as our own and share it with others. Blessings for a beautiful New Year. Thank you for joining The Weekend Brew.

    • Yes… his music surrounds us! 🙂 And I love that He puts his very presence into our praises (singing worship back to him)… and like the Robin, even in the midst of the snow clouds encircling us, singing our hearts out before Him… blessings the same to you!

  6. Happy New year, Pam! What a neat section of the verse you have here: “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him…” –it makes my shoulders rise in gentle peace and an in-drawn breath.

    Have a great week,
    Jennifer Dougan

    • Isn’t it beautiful in image? I have loved this one ever since I read it in the context of an inspirational novel and the author pointed out that it was the Lord “hugging” us… Love how you put that about your peace too. Thanks, Jennifer! Happy and blessed New Year!

Hi Pam, what a sweet, beautiful drawing! Speaking of England I had a visit with Karin & Les and found out that they had gone to England with their adopted son to visit some family that live there. Les had made up a really nice video of their trip with music that was so very nice. I told her that you would like to go to England someday and she said that you should! Joyful, blessed New Year 2015! 🙂

    • Hi MaryLou. So glad your travels went well! I didn’t know they had adopted, but I remember they had a big family last time I saw them. How fun that they got to go to England! Glad you like the drawing! I want to do a few more of birds, one for each season… Just wish that all the more subtle gray in the background would show up on here. It makes it look like it is in clouds, but I realized afterwards that it is really all the clouds of snow on the bush behind branch the bird is resting on… Beautiful new year to you too!

What a beautiful bird and a beautiful thing to be, a winter songbird. I think our sweetest songs to God are the ones we sing in the winter seasons of our soul.

What a beautiful drawing. Your art reminds me of some lovely pictures my Grandmother had in her den when I was a little girl. Happy New Year!

    • Thank you Jennifer! I’m glad this reminds you of a special memory! This drawing doesn’t completely scan for the blog (it never picks up the subtle grays, so hard to see a definition of snow behind the bird… like clouds of snow on the bush it is on), so nice to know it still reflects some beauty to you here… 🙂
