Prayer for Holy Thursday

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

~ Philippians 2:9-11 [NIV]

Prayer Corner...

O Lord, on this Holy Thursday, I am overwhelmed by Your NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES…

The NAME to which all other names must surrender…

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain,

‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart

but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

~ Mark 11:23 [NIV]

…every ‘mountain’ that has a name…

Including…

Loneliness

Fear

Disease

Frustration

Hopelessness

Unforgiveness

Self-condemnation

Worry

Death

…and more…

To each of these and more, may your people wave high the banner of YOUR NAME…

in the way of War Room prayer

For You took every curse in our place…

and wrote Your Name across our very being…

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Galatians 3:13,14 [NIV]

Victory because of Jesus’ love. Overcomers with God’s power in us if we will believe Him.

Amen. He overcame death and sin for us. Lived a life of perfection to die on the cross. Beautiful prayer for Holy Thursday.

    • I think of that old example learned as a child, that where God is whispering Truth into our ears on one side, the enemy whispers his lies on the other… and how God gives us the Name of Jesus to banish all power of those lies… Blessings, Mary!

Can you believe He took every curse? It’s really unfathomable, when you think about it. We did tonight at our Maundy Thursday service. Very meaningful.
wishing you a happy Holy Week, Pam…

    • I know… my mind has been spinning today on that same thought. Just like the Trinity, or the thought of eternity without end… it goes on and on what he took on Himself in order to bring us in on the Abraham Covenant… and unfathomable is a good word about the scope of it all and what it really means to us for here and now as well as eternity . I am feeling that God means for us to keep seeking Him more and more about it all… in that Ephesians 1:17, 18 prayer way… Blessings to you too, Lynni!
